volunteer opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers to help with the many, many projects underway at the Alpine Historical Society's museums. This is a marvelous way to give back to the community while interacting with amazing and friendly people dedicated to the preservation of Alpine's history.

If serving on the Board doesn't appeal, we are very much in need of grant-writers. We have identified two projects which might be funded by a grant: the documentation of the lost roads and trails of Alpine and the scanning and archiving of the Society's newspaper collection.

We're looking for people willing to:

  • Serve as scrapbook chairman
  • Photograph changes in Alpine
  • Assist with fund raisers
  • Assist in the preparation for the annual History Day Celebration
  • Catalog artifacts and documents
  • Perform genealogical research on Alpine's pioneer families
  • Prepare displays for the museums
  • Serve as meeting host by ensuring needed supplies are transported to the Woman's Club for the
    quarterly meetings
  • Perform light landscaping duties--checking and repairing sprinkler, light weeding, pruning and so forth.

If you have a few extra hours here and there, give us a call or send an e-mail--you won't be sorry. This is a great bunch of people and you would be most welcome!
